Hi, I’m James — founder of Journeys by JJ, and an Independent Travel Expert with a genuine passion for designing trips that feel seamless, thoughtful, and completely stress-free.
In 2023, I left a full-time career in government to travel the world — spending a year across five continents and over 30 countries. From tuk-tuks in Sri Lanka to trekking in the Himalayas, island-hopping in Indonesia to scuba diving off Gili T, and hiking volcanoes in Mexico to road-tripping Australia’s east coast — the journey transformed how I think about travel.
More than just memories, it gave me real-world insight — into what makes a trip meaningful, and how to design experiences that feel genuinely personal. That’s the foundation of Journeys by JJ – Independent Travel Expert, where I help busy professionals book tailored holidays with confidence and ease. Everything is professionally arranged under the trusted Independent Travel Expert (ITE) network, with ABTA and ATOL protection where applicable — from flights and accommodation to cruises, packages, and insurance.
And for support that goes beyond travel, I also run Nomoa — a completely separate lifestyle concierge service. Nomoa stands for No More Admin — and it’s for people who want help managing the rest of life’s logistics: from sourcing thoughtful gifts and organising home deliveries to coordinating personal events or arranging everyday services. It’s not a travel agency — and it does not handle any aspect of travel planning or booking. Instead, it offers a layer of calm, clarity, and convenience across other areas of life.
