Hi, I’m James, founder of Journeys by JJ and an Independent Travel Expert with a genuine passion for designing trips that feel seamless, thoughtful, and completely stress-free.
In 2023, I took a career break from government to travel the world, spending a year across five continents and visiting 19 new countries, bringing my total to over 35. From tuk-tuks in Sri Lanka to trekking the Himalayas, island-hopping through Indonesia to scuba diving off Gili T, and hiking volcanoes in Mexico to road-tripping Australia’s east coast, the experience completely reshaped how I think about travel.
More than just memories, it gave me real-world insight into what makes a trip meaningful and how to design experiences that feel genuinely personal. It also taught me the value of time, rhythm, and balance, the difference between a trip that feels rushed and one that unfolds naturally.
As a personal travel advisor, I bring that same care and perspective to every journey I design. I take time to understand what matters to you, your pace, your priorities, and the moments you want to create.
